Oy Modilis Ltd is a Finnish company, and the owner of a number of IPRs, patents and know-how, and a developer of high performance diffractive optics (DO) based lightguide products (e.g. for LCD backlighting, keypad lighting and frontlight solutions for e-paper displays and E-Book application), for mobile handsets, and a range of other display and illumination applications.

Our expertise in electrical and diffractive optic (DO) engineering, along with our ability to utilise the latest material technologies, forms the basis of our company. These assets, combined with cross-scientific thinking and an exceptional ability to innovate, have led to the successful development and industrialisation of the MODILIS-FlexFilm™. To have the best possible technology is one thing - to make it work in high yield production is another. From the beginning, we not only focused on providing the best possible technological solutions, but at the same time, we have demanded that our solutions always work in high quality mass production, with high yield.

Our mission is to develop, industrialise and commercialize totally unique, and significantly more efficient types of lightguide solutions for e-paper and LCD-display, as well as User Interface illumination, based on diffractive optics.
